First Day of School

First day of school. Didn't get a photo of John because his bus came 20 minutes before the scheduled time. We were waiting at his bus stop and a neighbor stopped by. She was driving her fifth grade son to school so she gave us a ride!

Team finished 2nd place in tournament.

I thought I'd make some sugar cookies. So glad Alyssa came home after her running club and wanted to do all of the hard work rolling out the dough. I let her do all of the frosting as well.

Nice 73 degree day the kids got to enjoy after school. I thought it was great and I spent almost half the day out in the yard. However it was so disappointing that it was just a teaser! Makes the normal temps feel that much colder now.

Kids waiting at the bus stop on their first day back after 9 total days away from school. It's like they had an early spring break. Monday was President's Day so they were off. Then Tuesday and Wednesday they were off due to snow. Thursday and Friday schools were cancelled due to the extreme cold (wind chills -20+ below) Then Saturday it snowed all day and we got an additional 6-8 inches. If we got that snow on another day, they probably would have cancelled school.

Enjoyed staying the evening at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix before an early flight back to the cold the next day. Was nice to see my parents and an aunt and uncle in addition to getting to enjoy some beautiful warm weather!
