Started snowing last night and we were already notified around 9pm that there would be a 2 hour delay in the morning. Got the call at 5:45 this morning that the schools would be closed. Kids were excited since their friends back in Kansas had at least 4 snow days over the past weeks. We only ended up with a few inches but we had rain prior so am sure lots of slick areas on the road. Kids were hoping for more to make a BIG snowman. Spent part of their day off going to the orthodontist because shortly after Alyssa woke up one of her brackets came off. Said 6-7 more months of braces. Religion class is on for tonight.

Getting lots of rain here while our friends in Kansas have gotten 18 inches of snow one day and a few days later another 15! Schools there were off at least 4 days and kids were hoping that would be here.

Alyssa had try-outs for the school talent show yesterday afternoon.

Kids enjoying what's left of the snow we got on Monday. Started snowing right when we were headed to a guitar lesson. It was really coming down, and I tried the brakes before getting to the entrance to our subdivision and slid. I could hardly see with wipers on high. I quickly realized was not worth risking getting into an accident so ended up turning into the subdivision next to ours and returned home. Several weeks ago there were several multiple car pileups near here.

What I saw looking out the back door today. The two squirrels were just hanging out on the deck railing for quite a while. Almost looked like they were both all huddled up - not moving much. This morning it was only 7. Not sure about the feel like temperature.

On Sunday afternoon I took the kids skating with the girl scouts. John brought a friend with him so he wouldn't be the only boy.
